The Neville Goddard Library

An online library of Neville Goddard's lectures and writings, with a research archive in development behind it.

## The project

The Neville Goddard Library is MADDev's own project: an online library of Neville Goddard's lectures and writings, on its own domain and with a reading-focused design of its own.

Behind the public site, a research archive is in development. Lecture audio is transcribed, and every text is catalogued and checked against its sources, so that the library can grow from material whose origin is known.

## What we built

- A public library on its own domain, with a single-column reading layout, typography and colours of its own
- Separate branding per domain on a shared Drupal installation, through the Domain module
- A catalogue of lectures and books on [Research Library](/products/research-library), in development
- A transcription pipeline for lecture audio, in development, working only from recordings of Neville's own voice

## Knowing where a text came from

The lectures reach us in many forms: transcripts, later edits of transcripts, and texts whose attribution is uncertain. The archive therefore compares texts paragraph by paragraph rather than lecture by lecture, which tells an exact copy from a shortened one and from a rewrite, where a whole-lecture comparison would call all three similar.

Every check is recorded in an evidence log that is only ever added to, so a lecture's status follows from the checks made on it rather than being set by hand. This work is in development and not yet part of the published library.
